Assemblies: The World of Voice Acting and Sound Effects

Let Katie Leigh bring to your students a new understanding of the cartoons they watch and the radio broadcasts they hear!

Using a multimedia presentation and student participation, Katie explains sound production from beginning to end, including studio recording, sound effects (foley), and a few "tricks of the trade." She shows students what an audition script looks like and how the characters are created.

Students get a chance to participate in a "cold reading" and appreciate first hand the intelligence and experience that must inform actors in the voiceover profession.

Through motivational speaking which emphasizes literacy, education, perseverance, and personal growth. Katie Leigh has fun bringing popular entertainment to school settings along with a realistic view of life as an actor. She is a "must" for kids whose reports cards say "good student, but talks too much!"

This program can be geared to any age group and can run from one hour to two.
